Introducing Tree Goddess

I’d like to introduce you to my newest painting, the Tree Goddess!

My children have been joining me in the art studio a lot lately and my oldest, Riah, age 9, was set on us painting a tree goddess. Normally, I don’t let the kiddos help me with big canvases, but this child was empowered and inspired to join mama!

I want to share with you the story he created to accompany this goddess. Something tells me it will resonate with many of you

According to Riah, the tree goddess lived in the city for a long time, but she decided the city wasn’t beautiful enough. She needed to escape. So, she left the city in search of Mother Earth and found her in the breath-takingly beautiful jungle. She can still see the city, but it’s no longer her home. Instead, the beauty of the earth is her home.

Raising ecofeminist sons, y’all! It was a humbling honor and joy to have Riah paint, imagine, and tell the Tree Goddess’s story alongside me.

Plus, I’ve promised him that, once it sells, we can buy a trampoline.

Do you ever feel like you need to escape the ugliness of civilization in search of nature’s beauty, beloved? If so, I encourage you to be like the Tree Goddess, be like Riah. Find the beauty.
